The Great Baddow Bake-off

The Great Baddow Bake-off.

Last year Baddow Hospital held their first ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’ and raised over £100.

This year we wanted to push ourselves that little bit further, so with that in mind we thought we would ‘spice’ things up by adding a little competition into the mix.

Thereby creating ‘The Great Baddow Bake-off’.

Each member of the Baddow Hospital team donned their apron, picked up their whisks and began baking. Our main agenda was, of course, to raise as much money for Macmillan Cancer Support as possible. However our team were also passionate about winning the prizes and going head to head with their colleagues to be crowned ‘Baddow Hospital’s Best Baker’!

We were lucky enough to have Claire and Catherine from Macmillan come and judge our bake-off. They took the challenge to taste 28 bakes and presented our team with their prizes.

So you are probably wondering how much money we raised?…Who was crowned the winner?… and could any of us be good enough for The Great British Bake-off??

As Mary Berry once said “Cakes are healthy too, you just eat a thin slice”

Here are the categories and the winners…

*Top prize* Winner of Baddow Hospital’s Best Baker and the prize of the champagne, certificate and Golden spoon went to our Outsourcing lead Amy Dixon-Hodge and Health Care Support Worker Sean Marchington
