Our Well Man and Well Woman Health Checks

2/3rd  of general practitioners in the US believe adults should have annual check ups but it is not yet as popular in the UK. Annual check ups may pick up problems such as raised blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers. Finding illnesses such as cancer and cardiovascular disease early often mean they are more easily treated.

As well as having the chance to air any health concerns and discuss your current general health in a calm unpressured environment, our health checks are designed to detect and prevent disease, and guide you into a healthy future.

Cardiovascular Health

Did you know Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity are all risk factors for Heart Attacks and Stroke? The more of these conditions an individual has, the higher the risk becomes.

Through medical history, clinical examination, and some simple blood tests, we will calculate your risk of Cardiovascular disease. If appropriate we can advise you ways in which to reduce that risk.

Early Detection of Cancer

Detecting cancers early improves outcome and saves lives. Cancers may be present well before symptoms are experienced.

For example:

Regular PSA testing helps to identify early Prostate Cancer.

Regular Cervical smears and HPV screening find changes in the cervix which may lead to cancer.

We include both of these simple tests within our health checks. We will also be able to discuss with you any further tests which may be indicated, for example looking for cancers of the colon, lung, or ovaries.

We also offer a Well Man & Well-Woman’s couples package- which includes an introductory 10% discount.
