Mr Mathur is a Senior Plastic Surgeon with over 25 years’ experience and is Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford, Mid Essex NHS Trust. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a full member of the BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons).

Mr Mathur qualified in 1979 and completed his postgraduate training in Plastic Surgery in 1988. He had further sub-speciality training in breast, head and neck surgery and microsurgical reconstructions at the Canniesburn Unit in Glasgow and St. Andrew’s Centre in Chelmsford. Mr Mathur worked as a consultant in India, Saudi Arabia, Glasgow and Swansea before taking up his consultant role in Essex.

Mr Alexandros Charalampopoulos

Mr Charalampopoulos is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. His main interests are oesophagogastric resections, gallbladder and hernia operations, as well as surgery for the morbidly obese (weight loss surgery).

Mr Charalampopoulos graduated with honours from the University of Athens Medical School in 2002 (9th out of more than 600 students) and undertook his surgical training in the UK and Greece. In 2010, Mr Charalampopoulos completed his surgical training and gained his CCT in General Surgery. Following this, he was offered a prestigious fellowship in Gastric and Oesophageal Cancer Surgery at the National Cancer Centre Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, where his training was immensely enhanced in the field of extensive Lymph Node Dissection and Laparoscopic Functional Gastrectomies for early gastric cancer.
For the next two years, Mr Charalampopoulos completed fellowships in Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery in both cancer and benign diseases at St George’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London.
Mr Charalampopoulos has attended surgical oncology courses in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York and advanced Laparoscopic Surgery courses at the world-renowned centre IRCAD/EITS in Strasbourg France. He has performed thousands of open and laparoscopic operations, the majority of which are in upper gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Charalampopoulos has completed a Master’s Degree (MSc) in the field of pancreatitis and was awarded a PhD with Honours for his work in gastrointestinal oncology and adhesion molecules. His research has been published extensively, including in one of the most prominent medical periodicals, The New England Journal of Medicine.

Mr Kadirkamanathan is a General Surgeon and one of three surgeons in Chelmsford operating on patients with oesophageal and gastric cancer. His NHS base is Broomfield Hospital.

Mr Kadirkamanathan graduated from medical school in 1984 and undertook surgical training as a Registrar in Liverpool between 1989 and 1992. Following this, Mr Kadirkamanathan obtained a research fellowship at the Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospital where he performed ground breaking research work on Capsule Endoscopy and Endoluminal Surgery. He then undertook Senior Registrar training in the London and North-East Thames regions.

Mr Hammond graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 1998 and completed surgical training in 2012. Mr Robarts is a Consultant Gynaecologist with Mid Essex Hospital Trust, based in Chelmsford, and practices general gynaecology with a special interest in early pregnancy, menstrual disorders, female infertility and menopausal problems.

Having qualified in 1975 and served his junior posts in Edinburgh, Mr Robarts migrated south to East Anglia to become Senior Registrar at Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital, where he held Honorary Lecturer Status. In 1988, he became Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Mid Essex Hospitals, working first at St John’s Hospital and Broomfield Hospital, and was also Director of Clinical Studies for Undergraduates from the Cambridge University Medical School for a decade. He subsequently became Clinical Director of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Directorate.
Mr Robarts has pioneered several procedures in the United Kingdom including ‘Adiana’ Hysteroscopic Sterilisation and the single incision Urethral Sling Procedure for stress incontinence. In 2008, he and a colleague were awarded the Barker Brettel Award for Medical Technology after devising a new surgical instrument to aid easier removal of uterine polyps.

Mr Albert Pace-Balzan

Mr Pace-Balzan is a General ENT Surgeon with vast experience in nasal, throat and ear problems and with a particular interest in paediatric surgery. Mr Pace-Balzan also has a special interest in salivary gland problems (including parotid surgery) and other neck pathology. He is a member of British Medical Association, ENT UK (British Association of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery) and the Royal Society of Medicine.

Mr Pace-Balzan qualified as a doctor in London in 1977. He was Senior House Officer and then Registrar in General Surgery before starting his training in ENT at Manchester Royal Infirmary and then joining the Senior Registrar Rotation in Manchester. He was a Research Fellow at the Ear Pathology Research Laboratory in Toronto, Canada in 1991. Having completed his higher surgical training, Mr Pace-Balzan was appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon at Mid Essex Hospital Trust in Chelmsford, Essex in 1992.

Dr Victor Mendis

Dr Mendis is a Consultant in Pain Management, offering private treatment for pain in Essex at Baddow Hospital. He also holds the post of Regional Advisor to the North Thames Region of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Shamim Haider

Dr Haider was appointed a Pain and Anaesthetic Consultant in 2012, following extensive and high quality training in anaesthesia and pain medicine in Yorkshire Deanery, Nottingham, North London and India, spanning a period in excess of 12 years.
He undertook Advanced Pain Fellowship in a West Yorkshire scheme at Leeds and Bradford and was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
Dr Haider is on the editorial board of the Journal of Observational Pain Medicine. He has co-authored a chapter in a pain textbook titled ‘Symptom Oriented Pain Management’. He also co-founded and manages the national group for pain fellows in the UK.

Mr Arcot Maheshwar

Mr Maheshwar's clinical practice includes treating and operating on patients with general adult and paediatric ear, nose and throat problems such as tonsillectomy, grommet surgery in children, nasal and sinus surgery, surgery for voice problems including vocal cord paralysis, major surgeries for head and neck cancers, neck lumps, salivary gland problems and thyroid surgeries.

Having qualified as a doctor at the University of Bangalore in India in 1988, Mr Maheshwar completed his ENT training in Wales.
Mr Maheshwar has been a consultant for seven years, having previously completed his ENT training in Wales, followed by a year‘s clinical fellowship at the world-renowned Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand, and a six-month TWJ research fellowship at Cincinnati Hospital, USA.

Dr Altamura is a general dermatologist with an interest in skin cancers and management of pigmented skin lesions (‘mole mapping‘), along with skin and aesthetic surgery. He is currently based in Essex at the NHS Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
Dr Altamura graduated from the University of L’Aquila, Italy in 2003 and undertook postgraduate training in dermatology, achieving recognition on the GMC Specialist Register in 2014.

Following his training in dermatology, Dr Altamura undertook a research fellowship at the Sydney Melanoma Diagnostic Centre, Sydney, Australia, specialising in early detection and management of melanoma. He has published internationally recognised scientific articles on the topics of dermoscopy, management of pigmented skin lesions and early diagnosis of skin cancer.

Ralph Graham has been a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon for Kent CHT for the last 15 years and has practiced in Surrey and Essex for 25 years.

Mr Graham graduated from the London Foot Hospital in 1970. Sadly this excellent specialist hospital has been subsumed into University College Hospital in London and no longer trains podiatrists. Mr Graham was awarded a Churchill Scholarship, in 1980, to visit the USA which, at the time, led the world in foot surgery. On his return he was part of the development of better foot surgery and gained his first Consultant post at the Chelmsford and Essex Hospital. He worked for Mid Essex Hospital Trust until he moved to Kent.

Mr Peter Acher

Dr Brann’s first degree was in Applied Biology and he worked as a Clinical Biochemist before studying medicine at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital London. Holding the post of Honorary Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, Mr Bhatt believes and teaches clinical excellence - giving the best care possible with honesty, empathy and understanding to every patient.

Mr Bhatt qualified as a dentist from the internationally-renowned College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India in 1992. Following this, he undertook postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at King Georges Medical College in Lucknow, India where, while training as a Resident, he was awarded MDS (OMFS) from the University of Lucknow in 1997 for his clinical research on the release and reconstruction of TMJ ankylosis in children

He was then appointed to the West Midlands Higher Surgical Training Programme, where he gained experience in the entire range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery procedures. Mr Thilagarajah is a Consultant Urological Surgeon, based in Chelmsford, who specialises in prostate and bladder disorders, stone disease and cancers of both the kidneys and prostate.

Following his training at Charing Cross Hospital and Westminster Medical School, Mr Thilagarajah went on to attain a Master of Surgery Degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, investigating the causes, diagnosis and treatment of painful bladder disease and interstitial cystitis. In 2001, he achieved recognition on the Specialist Register for Urology (CCST), the FRCS (Urol).
Mr Thilagarajah then furthered his training as a Laparoscopic Urological Surgeon as Urology Senior Fellow at Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia. On his return to the UK, Mr Thilagarajah received specialist training in stone surgery at the Institute of Urology at Middlesex Hospital before being appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon at Mid Essex Health Services NHS Trust.
Mr Thilagarajah was Clinical Lead in Urology until 2012 and remains the Robotic Surgery Services Clinical Lead for Broomfield Hospital. He assisted in the creation of the Robotic Kidney Service in his role as Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

I qualified at London Hospital Medical College in 1978 and participated in a GP training scheme based around Harold Wood/Basildon Hospitals, undertaking my GP training year in Doddinghurst.
During my 30 years as a GP Partner, I had many medical interests. I was on the Relate Committee, the Psychiatric Division, the board of Farleigh Hospice, and I was Cancer Lead for the local primary care trust. With Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Acharrya, I started a joint Psychiatric Clinic at Danbury Surgery. Lee House Surgery was the first practice in Mid-Essex to have in house counsellors.
As a result of my interest in psychiatric care/counselling, I became interested in Medical Hypnosis. My one regret is leaving it so long before I took this course as I really appreciate the beneficial effect hypnotherapy has on my patients.

Following a successful career in Environmental health Dr Brown followed a lifelong ambition to read Medicine.
His medical training commenced at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, where he qualified in 1998 with a distinction in Medicine. Having completed various rotations, Dr Brown began training as a GP in 1999, in Chelmsford. After qualifying as a GP in 2003, he was invited to join Tiptree Medical Centre as a full Partner, where he remained until October 2015. Dr Brown was awarded fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP) in 2013 for services to General Practice.

I am a Registered Nurse with a post graduate diploma from University College London on Clinical Medical Hypnosis. I successfully undertook a BSC (Hons) in Health Studies and a Masters in Pain Management before training in hypnosis. I previously worked with patients using hypnosis at the Laurels GP surgery at Boreham and I have contributed and co-edited the ‘Chronic Pain Management’ book by Wiley.

I trained as a Registered Nurse at Scarborough General Hospital before moving to Oxford to study Orthopaedic Nursing. I then came to Chelmsford in 1987. I have had a varied professional life as a Theatre and Recovery Sister, then as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management, gaining a Master’s in the subject.
I have been using Medical Hypnosis within my practice for the past eight years, working with a small team in a primary care setting within a GP practice. I have presented hypnotherapy papers at national and international conferences.

Mr Kannegieter qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University with a distinction in 1999 and winner of the university's clinical medicine prize. Subsequently training in Bishop's Stortford, Epping, Colchester, Ilkeston and Reading, he gained his fellowship in Podiatric Surgery in 2012. Having spent three years as Specialist Registrar in Podiatric Surgery at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Kannegieter has honed his skills and experience in elective foot surgery and developed a special interest in the treatment of the rheumatoid foot.

I am interested in all aspects of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

I graduated in Medicine from India in 1997 and thereafter completed my specialist training in the University Hospital of Leicester, culminating in a CCT in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2009. I have researched the effects of Inflammatory Bowel Disease on Bone metabolism and was awarded a Masters in Health Services Research by Nottingham University in 2006.

Mr Jayanthi is a Consultant Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital specialises in keyhole surgery for hernias, gallstones, heartburn, cancer of oesophagus and stomach & weight loss surgery. He also specialises in Robotic Surgery and novel endoscopic procedures.

Mr Jayanthi was admitted to one of the top medical schools of India, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute with high merit. Following his graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom for surgical training. He then obtained Membership & Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He obtained a post-doctoral qualification from research performed at University of Oxford.

Following his doctoral research at Oxford University, Mr Jayanthi completed All Wales Higher Surgical Training Programme. He gained advanced experience doing focused fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence. Mr Jayanthi was a Senior Laparoscopic Fellow at ICENI Centre, Colchester (for keyhole surgery). Following this he spent a year at the St James University Hospital, Leeds (for cancer surgery). He then completed coveted and much sought after Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton (for weight loss surgery).

Mr Jayanthi has been awarded a number of awards. In particular, he was awarded the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship for 2013 by ALSGBI. He travelled to Japan and India to visit some of the leading surgeons in the world and learnt a number of innovative techniques.
