Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon
Mr Charalampopoulos is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. His main interests are oesophagogastric resections, gallbladder and hernia operations, as well as surgery for the morbidly obese (weight loss surgery).
Mr Charalampopoulos graduated with honours from the University of Athens Medical School in 2002 (9th out of more than 600 students) and undertook his surgical training in the UK and Greece. Mr Kadirkamanathan graduated from medical school in 1984 and undertook surgical training as a Registrar in Liverpool between 1989 and 1992. Mr Pace-Balzan is a General ENT Surgeon with vast experience in nasal, throat and ear problems and with a particular interest in paediatric surgery. He is a member of British Medical Association, ENT UK (British Association of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery) and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Mr Pace-Balzan qualified as a doctor in London in 1977. Dr Haider believes in a holistic approach to pain management which includes medications, physical therapy, simple and high end interventions, as well as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
Dr Haider was appointed a Pain and Anaesthetic Consultant in 2012, following extensive and high quality training in anaesthesia and pain medicine in Yorkshire Deanery, Nottingham, North London and India, spanning a period in excess of 12 years.

Mr Maheshwar's clinical practice includes treating and operating on patients with general adult and paediatric ear, nose and throat problems such as tonsillectomy, grommet surgery in children, nasal and sinus surgery, surgery for voice problems including vocal cord paralysis, major surgeries for head and neck cancers, neck lumps, salivary gland problems and thyroid surgeries.
Having qualified as a doctor at the University of Bangalore in India in 1988, Mr Maheshwar completed his ENT training in Wales.

Dr Altamura is a general dermatologist with an interest in skin cancers and management of pigmented skin lesions (‘mole mapping‘), along with skin and aesthetic surgery. He is currently based in Essex at the NHS Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
Dr Altamura graduated from the University of L’Aquila, Italy in 2003 and undertook postgraduate training in dermatology, achieving recognition on the GMC Specialist Register in 2014.
Following his training in dermatology, Dr Altamura undertook a research fellowship at the Sydney Melanoma Diagnostic Centre, Sydney, Australia, specialising in early detection and management of melanoma. He has published internationally recognised scientific articles on the topics of dermoscopy, management of pigmented skin lesions and early diagnosis of skin cancer.
Since 2009, Dr Altamura has worked in pigmented skin lesion clinics and multi-disciplinary melanoma services for various NHS Trusts, including Leeds General Infirmary, Ipswich Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital. In 2014, Dr Altamura was awarded a Master of Dermato-Surgery from the University of Siena, Italy and he is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists.

Ralph Graham has been a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon for Kent CHT for the last 15 years and has practiced in Surrey and Essex for 25 years.
Mr Graham graduated from the London Foot Hospital in 1970. Sadly this excellent specialist hospital has been subsumed into University College Hospital in London and no longer trains podiatrists. Mr Graham was awarded a Churchill Scholarship, in 1980, to visit the USA which, at the time, led the world in foot surgery. On his return he was part of the development of better foot surgery and gained his first Consultant post at the Chelmsford and Essex Hospital. He worked for Mid Essex Hospital Trust until he moved to Kent.
Mr Graham believes the quality of bunion and forefoot surgery has improved immeasurably over the last 25 years, although he also believes that there is still much to learn, especially in those under 20, which forms the greater part of his practice. He is also keen to see adult flatfoot cases.

Over the last 24 years I have come to regard many of my patients as friends and while dealing with their many and varied medical issues have together managed to improve our golf and share experiences of the ‘joys’ of bringing up children. Consultant Urological Surgeon
Mr Acher is based in Essex and is a Consultant at the NHS Southend University Hospital, where he practices General Urology, with special interests in urinary stone disease, problems with urinary flow and urological cancers.
Mr Acher qualified as a doctor in 1999 and in 2011 was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon at Southend University Hospital, following comprehensive training on the London Specialist Registrar rotation. Prior to this, he studied at Cambridge University, achieving a PhD in Prostate Cancer Brachytherapy and, in 2010, received a commendation at the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine Young Trainee of the Year Awards.

Dr Brann recently retired after 30 years as a GP in Boreham, Essex. He used hypnotherapy as part of his practice throughout that time and is currently President of the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis (BSCAH)
Dr Brann’s first degree was in Applied Biology and he worked as a Clinical Biochemist before studying medicine at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital London. Tim Williams is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics with a special interest in foot & ankle surgery. His ethos is to keep things ‘Safe, Sensible and Straightforward’.

Mr Bhatt qualified as a dentist from the internationally-renowned College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India in 1992. He was then appointed to the West Midlands Higher Surgical Training Programme, where he gained experience in the entire range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery procedures. Mr Thilagarajah is a Consultant Urological Surgeon, based in Chelmsford, who specialises in prostate and bladder disorders, stone disease and cancers of both the kidneys and prostate.
Following his training at Charing Cross Hospital and Westminster Medical School, Mr Thilagarajah went on to attain a Master of Surgery Degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, investigating the causes, diagnosis and treatment of painful bladder disease and interstitial cystitis. In 2001, he achieved recognition on the Specialist Register for Urology (CCST), the FRCS (Urol).
Mr Thilagarajah then furthered his training as a Laparoscopic Urological Surgeon as Urology Senior Fellow at Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia. Pain Management Consultant
Dr Carol McCartney is a Consultant in both Anaesthesia and Pain Management and, while based at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, has been instrumental in the development of the Pain Management Programme in Mid Essex, which is an evidence-based multi-disciplinary programme to educate and enable better coping skills to manage chronic pain for chronic sufferers. Dr McCartney has recently been elected to the board of the Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
Having qualified as a doctor at St Georges Hospital, London in 1984, Dr McCartney moved to East Surrey Hospital to begin specialist training in anaesthesia. Mr Jayanthi is a Consultant Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital specialises in keyhole surgery for hernias, gallstones, heartburn, cancer of oesophagus and stomach & weight loss surgery. He also specialises in Robotic Surgery and novel endoscopic procedures.
Mr Jayanthi was admitted to one of the top medical schools of India, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute with high merit. Following his graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom for surgical training. He then obtained Membership & Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He obtained a post-doctoral qualification from research performed at University of Oxford.
Following his doctoral research at Oxford University, Mr Jayanthi completed All Wales Higher Surgical Training Programme. He gained advanced experience doing focused fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence. Mr Jayanthi was a Senior Laparoscopic Fellow at ICENI Centre, Colchester (for keyhole surgery). Following this he spent a year at the St James University Hospital, Leeds (for cancer surgery). He then completed coveted and much sought after Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton (for weight loss surgery).
Mr Jayanthi has been awarded a number of awards. In particular, he was awarded the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship for 2013 by ALSGBI. He travelled to Japan and India to visit some of the leading surgeons in the world and learnt a number of innovative techniques.

Gall stones: Key hole gall bladder surgery, key hole surgery for bile duct stones (jaundice due to gall stones).
