Consultant ENT Surgeon
Mr Pace-Balzan is a General ENT Surgeon with vast experience in nasal, throat and ear problems and with a particular interest in paediatric surgery. Mr Pace-Balzan also has a special interest in salivary gland problems (including parotid surgery) and other neck pathology. He is a member of British Medical Association, ENT UK (British Association of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery) and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Mr Pace-Balzan qualified as a doctor in London in 1977. He was Senior House Officer and then Registrar in General Surgery before starting his training in ENT at Manchester Royal Infirmary and then joining the Senior Registrar Rotation in Manchester. He was a Research Fellow at the Ear Pathology Research Laboratory in Toronto, Canada in 1991. Having completed his higher surgical training, Mr Pace-Balzan was appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon at Mid Essex Hospital Trust in Chelmsford, Essex in 1992.
Mr Pace–Balzan’s special interests are ENT problems in children, ear disease, nasal obstruction and neck lumps, including salivary glands.

Consultant Rhinologist and Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon
Martyn is a Consultant Rhinologist (a sub-specialist Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon) with an NHS practice at Southend Hospital. He has particular experience in sinus, nasal airway and lacrimal (tear duct) disorders.
Martyn completed his basic medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London.
He obtained an MSc in evidence-based medicine at Oxford, and an MD by research in nasal (and lung) airways disease in Dundee. He went on to ENT training in Scotland then undertook two sub-specialist fellowships in Auckland and Amsterdam.
In both fellowships, Martyn trained with world leaders - advanced sinonasal and skullbase surgery in Auckland, and facial plastic surgery in Amsterdam.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, chairman to SurgTech (non-profit surgical education), a keen educator and regular contributor to international meetings in his speciality.
Subspecialist and Revision Rhinology (Nasal Surgery) including:
• Sinusitis (chronic rhinosinusitis)
• Nasal airway surgery - septoplasty and functional rhinoplasty (congenital, traumatic, or post surgical)
• Repair of nasal perforations
• Lacrimal (tear duct) surgery
• Associated conditions - anosmia (loss of the sense of smell), facial pain, allergy.
CONSULTANT EAR, NOSE AND THROAT SURGEON
Aaron is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with an NHS practice at Southend Hospital. He has a sub-specialist interest in Otology (conditions and diseases of the ear, hearing and balance).
After completing his medical training in 2001, Aaron undertook ENT training in London and Cambridge. He went on to sub-specialise in otology (complex ear surgery) by completing two world-class Otology fellowships at Cambridge and Little Rock, USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, a member of the ENT-UK and of the Prosper Meniere Society, a society dedicated to disorders of the inner ear.
Aaron’s training has given him clinical expertise in the rehabilitation of chronic ear disease such as tympanoplasty for perforated ear drums and more complex disease. He is also trained in the surgical rehabilitation of hearing in people who are hard of hearing and has a specialist interest in the management of dizziness and balance disorders. Aaron also offers expertise in general and paediatric ENT conditions.
Outside of medicine, Aaron is a keen guitar and banjo player. He tries to keep active through hiking, squash and racquetball. He has a diploma in photography and also writes and travels extensively.
