    Mr. Kadirkamanathan has been performing all forms of hernia operations since 1986. He offers both open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery  and is one of a team of three surgeons in Chelmsford who operate on patients with oesophageal and gastric cancer. He also operates out of Broomfield hospital.
    Mr Sri Kadirkamanathan qualified from medical school in 1984 and undertook surgical training as a Registrar in Liverpool, between 1989 and 1992. Following this, he obtained a research fellowship at the Royal London and St Bartholomew Hospital where he performed groundbreaking research work on capsule Endoscopy and Endoluminal surgery. He then undertook Senior Registrar training in London and the North East Thames Region. Mr Kadirkamanathan is an advocate of bariatric surgery. He believes through providing treatments such as Gastric banding, people’s wellbeing can be radically improved both physically and mentally.

    Mr. Khoo is a consultant general surgeon based at Queens Hospital, Romford and specialises in Laparoscopic Hernias. He is also one of a very few surgeons in the country who perform hernia repair under local anaesthetic. 
    Mr. Khoo qualified from Guy’s Hospital London in 1983. He has practised extensively across the south-east of England, including at King’s College, Norwich, Ipswitch, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Guy’s, Papworth, Royal Free, Chichester, Portsmouth, Hammersmith, Colchester, Ashford and St Thomas’ hospitals. In 1996 he was appointed as a consultant at Harold Wood and Oldchurch hospitals. He is a current member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Hospital and Consultants Specialist Association, as well as a Fellow of the RCS England. In 2009, Mr. Khoo was awarded the ‘Silver Scalpel’ award by the Association of Surgeons In Training.
    Mr. Khoo is a keen swimmer, cyclist and windsurfer. He also lists gardening and computers as personal hobbies.

    Mr Smith completed his initial training at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1993. During this time he also studied for a BSc in Neuroscience and spent several months working in a hospital in the Namib Desert treating members of the Himba tribe.
    Mr Smith’s Senior House Officer posts were also at St Mary’s and this is where he began his surgical career as Registrar in General Surgery with an interest in upper gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery. His next post was at Hillingdon Hospital where he joined the specialist breast surgery team. In 2002 he was awarded a Master of Surgery for his thesis on surgical dexterity and skills. He also won the Association of Surgeons Gold Medal for top position in the UK in the Intercollegiate Surgical Board Examinations in general and breast surgery. More gastrointestinal experience followed at this hospital before he went on to join the Breast Unit at St Mary’s Hospital in 2003. He was then awarded a National Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship working in Colchester and Chelmsford for a year. A year later he joined the Department of Endocrine Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital, the largest endocrine surgical centre in the United Kingdom before finally being appointed to Broomfield Hospital. Mr Smith worked under Professor Ara Darzi for two years researching assessment, training and accreditation of technical skills in surgery, and was awarded a Master of Surgery Degree from the University of London for his work.
