Mole and Lesion Removal
Moles: many people have hundreds of them all over their body often resulting in dot to dot type formations. The pigmented parts of your skin can remain safe for years but it is very important you keep a close eye on any changes to moles over this time.
Some moles and lesions cause us no harm or discomfort, but some may give cause for concern if they change shape, size or colour. Some may become a nuisance due to their look or by presenting themselves in an uncomfortable area.
As with all cancers, early detection is important when treating skin cancer and Dr Lateo, consultant dermatologist at Baddow Hospital, urged people to keep a particularly watchful eye on their moles. It should be pointed out though that not all skin cancer stems from moles.
Dr Lateo and Dr Altamura run regular mole clinics at Baddow Hospital, using a dermatoscope, a specialmagnification device which helps identify abnormal moles and melanoma. If a mole is suspicious, it can be surgically removed under local anaesthetic and submitted for examination.
At Baddow Hospital you can have your mole removed for as little as £280 (excludes histology).
