Baddow Hospital is proud to celebrate a major achievement this week. Our CEO, Christian Cooper, and Commercial Director, Alasdair Muir, have both been nominated and selected as finalists for the leading healthcare industry 2015 Laing Buisson Awards

Mr Christian Cooper is a finalist for the UK Entrepreneur of the Year award. This arises from Christian’s ongoing achievement in recognising potential opportunities and developing our now successful, state of the art acute hospital.

Supported by his board, Christian has developed Baddow Hospital as an exclusive independent private unit. However, identifying issues affecting some of the local NHS Trusts in Essex, led to Christian introducing Baddow Hospital to the local CCGs and NHS Hospitals’ management teams in a bid to support the Trusts with waiting list backlogs by offering outsourced care at Baddow Hospital. Patient feedback of the superb levels of care and patient experience at Baddow has led to the hospital becoming widely recognised as a serious healthcare provider in central Essex, supplying services to seven different NHS providers.

Christian commented; “I am thrilled to be shortlisted for this Award. The rapid growth and expansion of Baddow Hospital would not have been possible without the dedicated support of our whole team and our central ethos that patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The future is exciting as we hope to open our 2nd theatre in February 2016, with further projections to add a substantial bedroom extension wing and 2 further operating theatres in 2016-17’.

Mr Alasdair Muir is a finalist for the Management Consultancy Award. The Baddow Hospital Board of Directors wholeheartedly endorse this award application and are delighted to hear Alasdair has been shortlisted. The hospital is grateful to have had the loyal unstinting support of Alasdair who has made executive contributions in every aspect of the hospital’s growth ranging from site acquisition, project pre-planning, hospital commissioning, human resource management, executive ‘hands-on’ management, brand establishment and marketing, hospital growth strategy, ‘blue sky’ thinking and forward planning’.

Alasdair commented; “I’m absolutely delighted! Industry recognition with a shortlisting by Laing Buisson is a great honour and I have enjoyed playing my part in such an exciting project underpinned by a mandate to deliver Baddow Hospital as a healthcare provider delivering the utmost in patient care and to continue developing the hospital into a major regional centre of excellence.”

The Laing Buisson awards will take place at the Lancaster Hotel in London, on the 11th November 2015 to celebrate many achievements within the healthcare sector. We wish our boys the very best of luck.
